Cycle crash injures one

A Richland Center man was injured on Friday, June 27 after he crashed his motorcycle between Westby and Coon Valley.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department the accident was reported at 10:29 a.m. in the town of Coon on USH 14/61.

The accident occurred when a motorcycle operated by Edward L. Rose, age 22 of Richland Center, attempted to pass several westbound vehicles and lost control.

According to Rose the motorcycle began to shake, due to the wind, causing him to lose control. The cycle overturned several times down the roadway. Rose, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected and landed on the highway, but refused medical transportation to the hospital.

Assisting at the scene were members of Coon Creek Fire and Rescue, and Tri-State Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation.
